V3Travel Wins Queensland Online Tender
07/08/2006
The Queensland RTOs see an increasing need to e-commerce enable their industry in the most ‘open’ online environment possible, After an exhaustive process that included an open national tender, a comprehensive pilot program, business modeling and in-depth financial analysis, the V3Travel System has been chosen as the best platform to take the Queensland tourism industry into the digital age.
Mr Matt Williams, Chairman of the Queensland Online Committee today confirmed that the V3Travel System, having been selected as the Preferred Provider for the Queensland Online tender has now successfully passed the Queensland Online official Pilot Program (Pilot).
The in-depth Pilot was judged by a number of formal ‘Pilot Participants’ (Participant) selected by the Queensland Online Steering Committee. These included:
- The Queensland Online Steering Committee
- The Queensland Regional Tourism Organisation Supply Partner (Gold Coast Tourism)
- A Visitor Information Centre (Coolangatta Visitor Centre)
- A number of Tourism Suppliers at varying levels, including accommodation, tour operators and attractions.
Each of the Participants was asked to assess and grade the V3Travel System at a number of different levels (as outline in the Pilot with regards to functionality specific to their particular business.
Queensland Online advised V3 that the V3Travel System passed all of the component requirements of the Pilot, scoring an average of 4.4 (1 being very poor and 5 being excellent). Queensland Online views this as a highly successful result and congratulates V3 on its performance.
The successful Pilot means that Queensland Online and V3 can now proceed to finalise the contract negotiations, which we expect to be completed with all of the Queensland Regional Tourism Organisation by the end of 2006.
