Jewel Business Solutions sees opportunity in TXA

Jewel Business Solutions (JBS) has launched a new Point of Sale and Internet Booking System the ‘Jewel Integrated Booking System’ (JIBS), specifically designed for Visitor Information Centres and Tour Desks, to manage the sale of Tours, Accommodation, Express Coach Services and Merchandise.

Live booking and confirmation from JIBS is enabled using Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA) and operators currently running the Jewel Reservation System (JRS). JRS is already connected to TXA.

“JIBS uses TXA to connect through to the supplier reservation systems providing Visitor Information Centres and Tour Desks with real time visibility to prices and available inventory so they are no longer restricted by allocations or the need to wait for confirmations”, said JBS’s Executive Director Mr. Webb.

“As well as connecting to sightseeing and accommodation suppliers, JIBS is the only system that will allow you to book express coach services (with suppliers using JRS) removing the need for double entry of express bookings.”

Liz Ward, Chief Executive of the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) said “This represents another important building block in the development of TXA and demonstrates the industry wide benefits that can be achieved by utilising TXA’s capabilities and reinforces the open nature of TXA.”
