RMS to Tourism Exchange Australia

24 Jan 2008

V3 and ATDW today announced that the RMS property management system has been connected to the recently launched Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA) allowing more than 2000 properties using RMS the opportunity to present their inventory with live price and availability to more than 150 Australian online distributors.

ATDW General Manager Liz Ward said “RMS properties are amongst the first in Australia to take advantage of the TXA initiative. No longer need they be restricted by a limited number of Distribution channels but now they can avail themselves of all the sales opportunities provided by the many Distributors using TXA. In addition the uncertainty and hassle of manually loading fixed allocations is removed as bookings are made directly with the RMS system further reinforcing the open nature of TXA.”

Numerous RMS properties have already rushed to switch on this simple and easy to access capability. V3 Managing Director Shane Crockett said, “This integration adds another group of unique products to the ever expanding range of boutique properties throughout Australia available to distributors through TXA.”

The integration benefits travel consumers who can now search for rooms through whatever distributor they choose and access properties using RMS, then book directly with that property. For the RMS property, the booking is automatically and instantly presented in the RMS system with payment immediately made directly into the property’s bank account. The V3 system automatically and seamlessly manages all payments and settlement.

RMS Managing Director Peter Buttigeig says the technical integration went very smoothly, “We have been extremely impressed with the ease with which we have been able to integrate with TXA and in particular are very supportive of the business model whereby the businesses using our system have the individual choice to opt in or out of Distributors, set their own price and deal directly with the Distributor.”
