Need It Now and TXA announce distribution alliance
29 January, 2009
Australian Online Travel Pty Ltd announced today that its Need It Now distribution channel has commenced directly accessing Tourism Exchange Australia (TXA), powered by V3’s Open Booking ExchangeTM technology and the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) to supplement its range of Australian tourism product.
“Need It Now has been offering our customers great last minute deals on accommodation since 2001 and we will enhance this service by providing an even greater range of live inventory of the many tourism providers within TXA. This will further broaden the quick and easy search for Australian rooms backed up by our support service”, said AOT CEO Andrew Burnes.
“Our partnership with TXA is an example of the vision and initiative in our business as we open up the potential of Need it Now’s distribution power to an increasing number of tourism products in Australia and offer the travelling public great deals and packages, whether you're travelling for business or pleasure, with colleagues, family or on your own.”
Liz Ward, Chief Executive of ATDW said “We are extremely pleased to welcome Need It Now to the TXA family and we are very confident that they will provide another invaluable distribution option for all Australian tourism products. It reinforces the open nature of TXA and the inherent benefits it brings to our industry”.
Importantly, this initiative also shows the opportunities for all online distributors to take an active role in the TXA initiative and capitalize on their relationship with their clients.
V3 Executive Director and CEO Shane Crockett explained that AOT Group has taken an innovative position in providing a commercial booking point for the tourism operators in TXA. AOT is showing how to utilizing the strength of the neutral exchange to enhance the on line marketing of Australian tourism product to secure additional tourism product for Need It Now.
Need It Now wins, because they have a bigger offering for consumers; the consumer wins, because they get to see and book a wider range of product and the tourism providers win because they are able to reach more consumers.
